Macintosh Browser Smackdown
Macintosh Browser Smackdown at Ars technica is a great overview of the many browser choices available for Mac OS X. The article lists comparisons of speed and standards support among other things. I like the conclusion that the browser we all would love to use is the fictional Frankenbroswer 1.0, the monster browser with the following features:
- Mozilla’s standards compliance
- OmniWeb’s user interface and appearance
- Safari’s bookmark bar, tab implementation, and integration with .Mac
- Camino’s speed
- Opera’s control over preferences
- Internet Explorer’s market share
Until Frankenbrowser is released, there’s Mozilla 1.5 beta ;).
