Macintosh Browser Smackdown

Macintosh Browser Smackdown at Ars technica is a great overview of the many browser choices available for Mac OS X. The article lists comparisons of speed and standards support among other things. I like the conclusion that the browser we all would love to use is the fictional Frankenbroswer 1.0, the monster browser with the following features:

  • Mozilla’s standards compliance
  • OmniWeb’s user interface and appearance
  • Safari’s bookmark bar, tab implementation, and integration with .Mac
  • Camino’s speed
  • Opera’s control over preferences
  • Internet Explorer’s market share

Until Frankenbrowser is released, there’s Mozilla 1.5 beta ;).
