CSS Table Gallery

Chris Heilmann’s CSS Table Gallery is a bit like the css Zen Garden for tables. One data table, styled in multiple ways, some of which are somewhat painful to look at - did all contributors really read the submission guidelines?

Hopefully there will be some great designs here. Data tables tend to be not only boring, but also difficult to read. Careful styling can definitely make them more usable and accessible.

Want to contribute? Create a design of your own and submit it.

  1. Did someone take my style chip out overnight or is that site uglier than a Chernobyl parsnip?

  2. Steve, how many Chernobyl parsnips have you encountered so far? Send me a nice design or make a user style just for your sense of beauty. The current site looks great on my laptop.

Roger, you are right, I was a bit lax letting some of the first submissions through, but basically it was necessary to get this thing going. The amount of submitted designs consisting of image replacement exclusively is staggering, too. It is tricky to offer people a choice to design things and not repeatedly tell them that nothing on the web is fixed.

    Where is yours?

Chris: I figured that when I saw some of the designs, hehe.

My submission is on my to-do list ;-).

  4. Sorry for the confusion, the site is fine :) its the (majority of) table designs I found ugly - particularly the colour choices and those that are broken on my mac. Just my opinion, of course.

I’ll try and find time to submit, I could use the practice.

  5. I’ve made my contribution now, hope you like it. :)

My design is also up now: Coffee with milk.

  7. Mine was prettier … :P
