Information Aversion
In Information Aversion, Dave Shea notes that he finds combined RSS feeds annoying. Reading the comments, it’s obvious that others do too. Personally I don’t mind combined feeds as long as they aren’t littered with personal stuff, which is rarely interesting unless you know the person IRL.
Anyway, since it’s so easy to setup, this site now has a feed that contains only my main posts. No Quicklinks. If you want to separate things, you may want to unsubscribe from the All posts feed, and instead subscribe to the Main posts and Quicklinks feeds. Or just one of them. Or neither.

Thanks Roger for the new options. Your Quicklinks are much less of a bother to me because you actually take the time to comment with your opinion and why you’re linking to a page. The ones that can get annoying are the del.icio.us links that are posts with 6 links and maybe half a sentence on each.
Yeah I try to make sure most Quicklinks are to things that are really useful or interesting. I also use them as a kind of remote bookmarks for my own use, so a comment makes it easier to remember why I linked to it. It’s also a great way to weed out the stuff that isn’t good enough — I figure if I don’t find it worth writing a few words about, it isn’t worth posting either.
