Speed Up Your Site

Many websites that look great and have interesting content are still a pain to use because they are slow. Being a pretty impatient person, I have left plenty of sites before they even finished loading. And I know many others have too. That’s why you don’t want your site to be slow, and why you should read this book. Andrew King has filled this book with web site optimisation tips, covering everything from markup, scripting and graphics to server side techniques and search engine optimisation. An excellent book that will help you make your site faster.

There was a good article at Sitepoint. That's enough knowledge for me to optimize my web site. How do they stretch things over the whole book?

I loved the chapter on optimizing JavaScript for speed. It's a subject you hardly ever see mentioned.

Julian: I hadn't seen that article before, and it's a good one. It does bring up much of what this book is about.

The book is much more detailed, with plenty of coding examples and several before/after case studies. It also has detailed info on search engine optimisation as well as multimedia and graphics optimisation.
