Designing Web Usability
One of the best known usability advocates around, Jakob Nielsen is someone whose opinions are often provoking, and often cause heated debates. Whether you agree with what he says or not, this book is well worth reading. There are plenty of real world examples, statistics and screen shots to back up the arguments made. Some people argue that most of what’s in this book is just common sense. You could say that, but millions of websites out there would have been much more usable and useful if their constructors had read this book, and kept things simple.
