Blacklisting
Posting comments at this site has only been possible for a day, so I have no problems with comment spam yet. After reading about many other blogs being attacked (Brainstorms and raves, Clagnut, Adam Kalsey and Simon Willison to name a few) I thought I’d be a bit proactive and do what I can to stop comment spam before it finds me.
What I did was install Jay Allen’s MT-Blacklist plugin, which is very easy to install and seems to work well as discussed at jayallen.org. If all goes well I’ll never see any comment spam, except in the log.
