CSS Rollovers
Uberlink CSS Rollovers is a nice tutorial at PVII on how to use unordered lists to mark up navigation links, and CSS to spice the links up with the kind of rollover effect that used to require JavaScript. It degrades well and lets you add some spice to your design without cluttering your code with JavaScript. The tutorial makes some references to Macromedia Dreamweaver, but don’t worry - you can apply this technique no matter what you use to hack your code.
